The intersection of Connaught Drive and Highway 16 was the scene of a three car pile-up, April 24.

Around 9:30 a.m., an eastbound flat-deck truck struck a westbound pickup truck that was pulling a trailer when the driver made a left turn toward town.

“That collision caused the truck with the trailer to hit the car that was stopped at the stop sign, so there was some collateral damage,” said Corp. Ryan Gardiner, who was on the scene. A fourth car, a Mountain Park Lodges staff vehicle, also received minor damages as a result of the collision.

The driver of the flat-deck truck, a British Columbia man who was travelling to Jasper for a medical appointment, faces two charges: failing to make a safe left turn and driving with an expired driver’s license.

There were no injuries as a result of the accident.
