My internship has come to an end and sadly I must say goodbye. I have enjoyed my time in Jasper very much.
The stories I have written and published have been remarkable experiences. I honestly believe I have the best job in the world. It certainly beats my former careers: painting, gas field service, restaurant cook, graphic designer or anything else I have done to pay the bills. All theses jobs have accumulated in my life to bring me to this point, and have helped me afford this extraordinarily expensive line of work.
In Jasper I have researched in the archives at the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archive, cross-country skied up Cavell Road, snowboarded at Marmot Basin, hiked at Maligne Canyon (went spelunking there as well), stayed at hostels, went on a Fire Smart walk-through and have been on many other incredible adventures.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people I have worked with: Justin Brisbane, editor; Mathew Timmins, photojournalist; Karen Young, publisher; Melissa Montrose, production manager; Cameron Strandberg, reporter; and all of the Fitzhugh owners. Thanks for dealing with all my shenanigans. I have had a great time working with all of you and I have learned a lot.
From here I go back to Calgary to finish my many assignments and graduate in May. Also, in May, I will be going to Peru. There I will hike Machu Picchu, fly over the Nazca Lines, hike into Colca Canyon and visit many cities, towns and villages.
When I get back to Calgary I will update my website so stay tuned: www.bradleyhallettphotography.com.
I hope you, Jasperites, have enjoyed my work. It certainly wasn’t easy. I didn’t take a single day off all month. Ask my landlord. She commented once that the only time I was home was to sleep.
Take care Jasper people, and enjoy (the Fitzhugh). Everyone here works very hard to keep you informed. |
