Jasper’s K2 skiers have finished their race season for another year, and coach Jeff Wadsworth says the group has a lot to be happy about.

The team competed at the Provincial Race Series Finals in Banff last weekend and while the slalom course proved problematic for the youngsters, better results were gained from the giant slalom race the following day.

While only Autumn Gauthier managed to finish the slalom race, Emma Carroll raced to a second place finish in the GS, with Ben Ritter, Ian Towers and Gauthier all finishing in good positions as well.

“Ben had his best finishes this last weekend, and Emma’s results speak for themselves,” said Wadsworth.

The GS course was icy and difficult, making the good finishes all the more impressive, he added.

“It was definitely the hardest course of the season.”

Wadsworth is confident that all of the skiers will continue to improve their results next season.
