Snow season lingers, but the trails are calling runners for the 24th Spring Run-Off, the annual 10 km Mother’s Day race that opens the running season in Jasper.

Organized by Totem Ski Shop and Jasper Source for Sports, the open race is a challenge to shake loose beer bellies and accumulated winter layers of insulation.

For those who pre-register by May 10, the entry fee is $20, which includes a guaranteed free t-shirt. The entry fee is $25 for the entries on May 11, which includes a t-shirt while supplies last. All proceeds will be donated to the Jasper Ski Team.

Race day registration starts at 10:30 am on May 11th and the race starts at 11:00 am sharp at Lake Annette.

Registration forms for the race can be found at Totem Ski Shop, Jasper Source for Sports, or online at http://www.totemskishop.com. For more information, contact Totem Ski Shop at (780)852-3078.

Last year there were 68 participants with the fastest time won by Gerrard Lewin with 39:46. The top female racer was Kate Wright with a time of 42:41.
