The Jasper Ski Team competed in four different events across the province this past weekend. The K1s raced on Porteous up at Marmot Basin in the slalom and giant slalom events for the regional finals. Out of 111 skiers from across the province, all of the top 10 times were within one second of each other. 

Results from Marmot Races:

Emerson Ostrander - Bronze in GS on Saturday, Silver in slalom on Sunday and was in his first year of competition

Nicholas Proc - 10th on Saturday and Sunday

Mattie Smith - 5th on Sunday, but missed a gate on Saturday

Molly Ostrander - 8th on Saturday and Sunday

 

The Nancy Greene Ski League competed in the Lauberhorn on Rabbit Hill at Lake Louise finishing with numerous ribbons and a gold medal for Lochlan Beauchamp.

 

Patrick Mahler and Sam Wall competed in The Doug Meyers Memorial Race, which was also held in Lake Louise and was the boys’ final event.

 

There was also an event held at Nakiska for the Apogee K2 finals, which had 55 competitors. Cameron Mahler finished 21st in the super G and 22nd in the giant slalom and it was his first year competing in the K2 field.
