The two Jasper under 14 girls soccer teams went head to head in the first game of the weekend at Centennial Park - the girls were evenly matched reaching a tie of 2 all at the end of the game.

The Jasper Red team was led by Meghan Leitch who scored two goals in the first game while Ashely Tassoni and Jenn Dillon got a goal each during the game.

Joan Dillon said “they’re really starting to play much more like a team ... you can tell the teams are evenly matched,” adding that it was nice to have a cooler weekend after the opening rounds hotter than normal temperatures.

Jasper Red also faced Drayton Valley, losing 4 - 1 and Jasper White were also defeated by Edson 2 - 1.
