Tiny black piglets squealed and white ducks waddled about (though, often chased), while rabbits relaxed with a few loving pats and lazy baby goats soaked up some extra attention at last weeks petting zoo.
A corner of Centennial Park was turned into a farmyard - a zoo of mini-Jasperites running about mixed with rare varieties of chickens and an ox to boot - when ‘The Funny Farm’ came to Jasper.
Brought to town by Écoles Desrochers Grade 2 students with the help of Mme. Suzanne Villeneuve the animals frolicked in the sunshine for most of the day last Wednesday.
The popularity of the zoo was evident, as people waited patiently outside the compound for their turn to get up close and personal with some cute baby animals.
Villeneuve said she was pleased with the turn out and is planning to make the petting zoo a regular event. |
