The Honourable Judge S. G. Peck presided over Jasper Provincial Court on June 9. The following charges were heard in court:

Tristan Barron and co-accused Matthew Pierce are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both accused entered a plea of not guilty. A half a day was set aside on Jan. 26, 2012 for a trial. Pierce is also charged with possession of a substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. A not guilty plea was also entered for that charge. 

Blair Gomien is charged with two counts of possession of a substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as well as two counts of failure to comply with the conditions of an undertaking or recognizance, under section 145 (3) of the Criminal Code. Counsel elected to waive reading, a trial was set for Dec. 8. Judge S. G. Peck asked that trial confirmation be brought to the court by August. 

Daniel Sapach is charged with assault, under section 266 of the Criminal Code, as well as failure to attend court under section 145 (2) of the Criminal Code. Judge S. G. Peck issued a warrant for his arrest, which was vacated after counsel entered a not guilty plea for the accused. 

Stephen Stack is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Counsel asked that the matter stand down, but Judge S. G. Peck ordered a warrant for the accused.

Frank Boostrom is charged with possession of a substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused elected to go to trial on Sept. 4 without a lawyer. Judge S. G. Peck asked the accused to return to court on Aug. 11 to confirm he is ready for trial. 

Donald Engstrom was to appear in court to face seven charges: two counts of driving a motor vehicle while unauthorized under section 94 (2) of the Traffic Safety Act; fail to appear under section 5 (3) of the Provincial Offences Procedures Act; two counts of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified under section 259 (4); failure to appear under section 145 (2) (a) of the Criminal Code and failure to appear in court under section 145 (2) of the Criminal Code. The crown requested and was granted a warrant for Engstrom’s arrest, as the accused was required to appear on June 9 to answer to the charges. 

Chien Nguyen is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Nguyen had a confirmed recognizance for June 9, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. 

Scott Petersen is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. A preliminary inquiry date was set for Nov. 10.

Dylan Ruddy is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle under section 253 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code and impaired operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams under section 253 (1) (b) under the Criminal Code. A trial date was set for Nov. 24.

Adam McNutt is charged with assault under section 266 of the Criminal Code. McNutt had several conditions imposed on him: he is required to keep the peace and be of good behaviour; report to probation and attend anger management.
