The Honourable Judge V. Myers presided over Jasper Provincial Court on May 12. The following charges were heard in court:
Tristan Barron and co-accused Matthew Pierce are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The offence date was clarified as having been committed in March of this year. The matter was put over for two weeks to May 24. Pierce is also separately charged with possession of a substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. That matter was also put over to the next court date.
Kyle Beck is charged with mischief in relation to property under section 430 (4) of the Criminal Code. This is Beck’s eighth court date on the matter, which was put over to June 9.
Jason Belisle is charged with possession of a controlled substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. This is Belisle’s second appearance on the matter, which was put over to June 9 to allow discussion with council.
Blair Gomien was to face four different charges as follows: two counts of possession of a substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking or recognizance under section 145 (3) of the Criminal Code. Gomien has been to court three times over these charges. The matter was put over to May 26.
Jared Hamer is charged with assault under section 266 of the Criminal Code. Hamer was previously sentenced, and was summoned to court to confirm that probation has been signed, and that he has applied to restitution. The matter was put over to May 26.
Mark Hostyn is charged with assault under section 266 of the Criminal Code. Hostyn has yet to make an election on the matter, and the trial was put over for the Honourable Judge Norheim’s next three-hour availability as requested by council.
Ambur Labreque is charged with assault and mischief in relation to property under section 266 and 430 (4) of the Criminal Code. Council asked that the matter stand down.
Edmund McKenny is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Council asked that the matter stand down.
Kyle Moscaluk is facing three charges; possession of a controlled substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, failure to appear on conditions of an undertaking and failure to appear under sections 145 (5.1) and 145 (5) of the Criminal Code. Council requested that the matter stand down.
Scott Petersen is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The matter was put over to June 9, where a preliminary hearing will be scheduled on the matter.
Dylan Ruddy is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle under section 253 (1) and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 0.08 per cent. This is Ruddy’s first appearance on the matter. Council requested it stand down.
Harry Savage is charged with theft over $5,000 under section 334 (A) of the Criminal Code. He has appeared on the matter 13 times. Council requested the matter stand down.
Stephen Stack is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Council requested the matter be put over to June 9.
Sean Teed is facing three charges; mischief in relation to property under section 430 (4) the Criminal Code, possession of a controlled substance under section 4 (1) and possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Council requested the matter go over to June 9.
Sean Venn is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Council requested the matter go over until June 9.
Dustin Kinch is charged with assault under section 266 of the Criminal Code, as well as failure to appear under section 145 (5) of the Criminal Code. Council requested adjournment of the matter, as the accused was in Ontario and could not attend court in Jasper on May 12. The charges stem from February, 2010. The original trial was set for May in Jasper, and was waived to Calgary. The accused did not attend the Calgary court date and a warrant was issued. A request for a warrant was again issued on May 12, and was granted by Judge V. Myers.
Nizar Lakhani is charged with failure or refusal to provide a breath or blood sample under section 254 (5) of the Criminal Code. Council requested the matter be put over to May 26.
Adam McNutt is charged with assault under section 266 of the Criminal Code. Council requested the matter stand down. The matter was revisited before adjournment of court. Council requested the matter go over to May 26.
Daniel Sapach is charged with assault under section 266 of the Criminal Code. Council requested the matter stand down.
Douglas Yarama is charged with possession of a controlled substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Yarama did not appear in court or provide instructions to council. The Crown requested and was granted a warrant for his arrest.
Linda Alook is facing six charges under the Criminal Code: dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, section 249 (3); dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, section 249 (4); impaired driving causing bodily harm, section 255 (2); impaired driving causing death, section 255 (3); impaired driving causing an accident resulting in bodily harm, section 255 (2.1) and impaired driving resulting in an accident causing death, section 255 (3.1). A request was made for a warrant to hold the accused for two weeks. Her attendance is required at the next Jasper court date, set for May 26.
Taylor Nelson and co-accused Eric Gelineau are facing two charges under sections 5 (1) and 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act: trafficking a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. Council acting on behalf of Nelson were granted a request to waive the matter to St. Albert on May 30. Council on behalf of Gelineau requested the matter stand down.
Miner Van Dusen is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Council asked that the matter stand down.
Duane Bingham is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 under section 355 (A) of the Criminal Code. Council requested the matter stand down.
Lawrence Vanderville is facing three charges: possession of a controlled substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking or recognizance under section 145 (3) of the Criminal Code. Co-accused Lynn Vanderville is charged with possession of a controlled substance under section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Council requested that all the matters stand down.
Derek Sim is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Council requested the matter stand down.
Ray Magnan is charged with entering on land without permission under section 2 (1) (A) of the Petty Trespassing Act. A warrant was issued for Magnan.
Timothy Stevens is charged with entering on land without permission under section 2 (1) (A) of the Petty
Trespassing Act. Stevens appeared in court to face the allegations, requesting the charges be dropped. Judge V. Myers advised Stevens to speak to council. The matter stood down.
In custody: Donald Reinhold is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 under section 355 (A) of the Criminal Code. Council requested the matter be adjourned until May 26. The request was granted. |
