Alberta program looks to showcase unique individuals in the province
Alberta Primetime, a new one-hour program that aims to delve beyond the headlines into the lives of people who affect and are affected by the news, is looking for exceptional individuals to be featured on the show.
“It’s a current affairs show and we take a province-wide look at everything Alberta,” said Sarah Keats, researcher for the Access Television show.
As an addition, Alberta Primetime will spotlight features, which will include interesting individuals who take part in extreme activities or have unique jobs. The categories are trailblazers, hidden gems, Alberta spirit, and extreme Alberta.
As an example, Keats said one idea the show has considered is the story of a company in Banff which purchased an old cabin with the aim of preserving it as a heritage property and using it as a space to preserve old instruments as well.
Another is the story of a woman who runs “ultra” marathons in the desert and got a world record, or a man who got into a terrible accident, burned 95 per cent of his body and is now a motivational speaker.
The launch date of the show is not yet determined, though the producers are aiming to come to Jasper in mid-November.
If you think someone you know would make for a great profile subject for the show, write a brief email explaining why to editor@fitzhugh.ca and The Fitzhugh will forward the information on. |
