It may have only been Nov. 7, but Jasper Jr./Sr. High School Grade 12 English students proudly remembered those who have lost their lives.

Students were given creative freedom in the production of their Remembrance Day service, which included poetry and films by the students that highlighted the importance of Remembrance Day and the sacrifices made by those at war.

A slide from one film stated: “Your freedoms are all around you. They were died for.”

Cpl. Tony Dolhan, former soldier now RCMP officer, during his speech commended the students on their attitude and respect for the presentations they put forth.

The Last Post and a minute’s silence ended the service.

The service was held early due to the school closure on Monday Nov. 10 and Tuesday Nov. 11 for the holiday.
