Kyle Scott Woods, 35, has been charged for allegedly assaulting an unsuspecting man in his home late in the afternoon of Mon, May 25.
Hinton’s RCMP Sgt. Dan Bradford said the accused was involved in a “love triangle” but the victim was simply the roommate of another party and not involved himself.
“The victim was a mistaken victim, it was not the intended initial victim, the accused actually went there to lay a licking on someone else,” he said.
Woods was charged after allegedly breaking into a house on Jarvis Street in Hinton and assaulting the occupant, causing a broken leg, defensive wounds on the victim’s arms, a sprained ankle and several cuts.
The victim was taken to hospital after the incident, but was discharged after treatment.
The Hinton RCMP have charged Woods with break and enter, forcible entry, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
Hinton RCMP have remanded Woods in custody. He will appear in the Hinton Provincial Court on June 3, 2009. |
