After the Hinton RCMP received a call about a possible abduction on Mon, May 25, they successfully located the vehicle involved with the 24-year-old victim and Jason Todd Bonnar, 34, inside.
Sgt. Dan Bradford said the RCMP located the 1992 white GMC Jimmy, which a third party claimed approached a Market Street home in Hinton, where the occupant was allegedly removed and assaulted.
Despite the 911 call, Bonnar was charged with breach of probation and unlawfull in a dwelling, as there were no witnesses to the alleged abduction or assault, according to police.
“None of the witnesses are willing to step up and say an assault happened or an abduction happened,” said Bradford, “including the victim.”
Bradford said the incident was drug related, but could not talk of the relationship between the accused and the victim.
Bonnar is due to appear in Hinton Provincial Court on June 3. |
