It’s loud, it’s sexy, it rocks, it’s the world’s only female nun-fronted tribute to Black Sabbath band and they are coming to Jasper.
Sister Sabbath is about to venture through Western Canada, making a stop in Jasper on Sat, July 11 at the Athabasca Hotel.
The Vancouver-based band’s lead singer and front-woman, Connie Meyer, says Sister Sabbath covers everything from Black Sabbath and Ozzie Osbourne from all the Sabbath eras and delivers a high-energy show that everyone can enjoy. And of course, Meyer will be adorned as a nun, backed by her three evil henchmen in black.
Meyer and band members Oleg Z, Darrin Evil and ClayTONE are no rookies to the heavy metal rock industry. Prior to forming Sister Sabbath a year ago, all four members were, and still remain in the band My Own Chaos, that has toured Canada. All four musicians have played in several other bands.
“I was looking for an all-female lineup,” said Meyer, “but it turned out that the people who were best for the job were men,” (and also in her other band). Meyer took a look and found that no one was using the domain name www.sistersabbath.com, and that the band name was available, so they took it.
Meyer said that My Own Chaos, which has its own original music was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, so the band thought it was fitting to form a tribute band in honour of them.
