Edmontonian comes to Coco’s
Jared Robinson, a 29-year-old Edmontonian, will be exhibiting a range of self-described “thought-provoking” art throughout March and April at Coco’s Cafe in Jasper.
Robinson will have a range of work on display with 18 pieces, including acrylic painting, digital illustrations and a paintograph, which is a photograph printed onto canvas and then painted over as well.
Originally from Prince George, the young man worked in Calgary teaching snowboarding before moving to Edmonton to “switch up” his focus and study digital art.
A painter for 10 years, Robinson said his main inspiration is “perspective on life. Through a string of many different events getting an appreciation for life itself and figuring out what actually matters and capturing those kind of moments.”
“Hopefully it can be pieces where you can look at them each for a little bit and get sucked right in,” said Robinson.
Robinson also works part-time doing graphics and video work as well as putting on a couple of art shows each year for local artists in Edmonton. “Just to kind of create an atmosphere for artists that aren’t used to showing their stuff, give them a comfortable space to do that,” he said.
A man of many talents, the artist also does video production with his brother-in-law and has even illustrated a childrens book Conductor Kash and the Prosperity Express. |
