Hinton on Stage will host its final show of the season, a performance by a Calgary duo on April 20.
Lewis and Royal, which Hinton on Stage volunteer Lois Carnell said are a pair of musicians but also comedians, will play at the Hinton Alliance Church. “They’re really good musicians and also have that rural charm and wit,” Carnell said.
The duo met in 1993 when Lewis was a student at the Rosebud Theatre where Royal was a full-time actor. They found that their styles and voices blended well, and they soon began composing and arranging music together. Their first project was composing music for the musical hit Chicken, a combination of blues, bluegrass, and old time rock.
Hinton on Stage is gearing up for next year’s season as well, with six shows in the works.
Performances include Lisa Brokop, Latin dance group Grupo Americana as well as music group The Bills. Hinton on Stage will continue to feature six performances, as it did last season.
Tickets to the Lewis and Royal show are $25 at the Hinton Library or at the door of the show, which begins at 7:30 p.m. on April 20. |
