Shaylee Dolhan - Miss Rodeo Jasper 2011
Shaylee Dolhan lives and works in Jasper, a place that she says can only be described by three specific words; authentic, eclectic and untamed.
Nestled in the Canadian Rockies there truly is no place like home for this 18-year-old. Interestingly, many take their ‘home’ for granted but this young lady knows what it’s like to be mobile. The life of an RCMP officer’s daughter tends to extend beyond mobility. It opens doors, minds and eyes to a world of possibilities regardless of where you are hanging your hat at the moment. Shaylee has called Jasper home for the past four years and clearly, leaving any time soon is not in her plan.
Riding and horses are synonymous for Shaylee. While she plans to attend college to pursue a career in equine management, her sights are on the here and now as she busies herself with her duties as Miss Rodeo Jasper 2011, a task she is most pleased and honoured to accept. Representing her community as an ambassador and rodeo rolemodel, Shaylee will make numerous appearances throughout her year and looks forward to making memories with each and every experience.
Jenifer Rak - Miss Rodeo Jasper Princess 2011
Jenifer is 18 years old and residing in Fairview, Alta. A recent graduate of Fairview High School, Jenifer is preparing to attend Olds College in the fall to study equine sciences. Jenifer just completed her fourth year as an extremely active participant in high school rodeo. She is looking forward to competing in the Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo Association in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and roping.
While rodeo and horses remains a focus for Jenifer, she enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and working on the family farm. For Jenifer, living life to the fullest means volunteering and she is a volunteer firefighter in her hometown as well as a certified EMR paramedic.
Jen will be around town, certainly seeing and being seen as she promotes Jasper and its rodeo at events around town and in the Peace Country. Jen has embraced her adopted community, ever ready with a smile. |
