Three of Jasper Ski Team’s K1 racers qualified for the Alberta Alpine Legends Camp in Lake Louise.
Patrick Mahler, Jacquelyn Proc and Sam Wall all finished in the top ten for their age group and were able to attend the spring slalom camp.
The athletes had the opportunity to train with Canada’s National Alpine Ski and Ski Cross team members and Alberta Ski Team racers, including Jasper’s own Tianda Carroll.
Following the camp, Jacquelyn and Sam headed to Norquay to participate in the Kinder Cup Head to Head dual slalom race. The race is an exciting event in memory of former national team member Rob Bosinger. Proceeds from the event go to fund Alberta’s largest ski scholarships for K2 athletes as well as the Canadian Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome Foundations.

Jacquelyn Proc encountered some very fast older competitors and lost in the end by only mere hundredths of a second after four thrilling matches. Sam also managed to win several extremely close challenges and finish on top of the podium for the K1 boys. It was a great way to cap off a fun season. |
