Rocky problem in Hinton

Police are asking for the public’s help in catching some rock throwing culprits who shattered the windshields of several vehicles in motion over the course of a night.

According to Cst. Paul Banks, over a 12-hour period from August 18 to 19, rocks were thrown at moving vehicles in the Valley district of Hinton near Switzer Drive, East River Road and Willow Creek Road. Several vehicles were damaged, and the windshields of two vehicles were shattered.

No one appears to have been seriously injured in the incidents but police are concerned that this sort of activity could pose a danger to public safety.

Hinton RCMP searching for large dog owners

Hinton RCMP are searching for the owners of two dogs that are in custody after they attacked and killed a cat in a trailer park.

According to Cst. A. Farrell, the two large dogs were picked up on August 18 after they were spotted running wild in the Johnson’s Trailer Court Area of Hinton. The dogs, one a German Shepherd and the other a white Husky mutt have been collected by Hinton Animal Control.

The dogs had apparently been wandering Hinton over the course of several days.

Police searching for stolen Hinton quad

Another quad has been stolen from Hinton.

According to Cst. A Farrell, sometime around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, a quad was taken from the Dorin Drive area of Hinton. The ATV is described as a black and orange 2010 110cc Giovanni. It’s VIN# is L5KGUMS05A1024560.
