After another high performance mountain bike was stolen in Jasper, the local RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating stolen bikes.
A red Banshee Morphine mountain bike was stolen from the 100 block of Geikie Street between May 14 and May 15. While the bike had been locked on the owner’s property, the thieves were able to cut the lock.
The bike is a 16-speed and has rare Hope Mono 6Ti brakes and Eastern pedals. The bike itself retails for about $800.
This is the second specialized bike theft in Jasper in the past three weeks. Two weeks ago, a $4,000 mountain bike was stolen from inside a residence.
Police are also asking bike owners to keep their bikes inside at night.
If anyone has information relating to the bike theft, they can contact Jasper RCMP at (780) 852-4421 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477. |
